The Core of Networking
2: Using the Above Framework
So how did I use this framework recently?
When trying to start the student-run venture capital fund, I set out to find the core of William & Mary’s entrepreneurial network. Whoever was part of this core would have an outsized impact on this idea (more correct than I would know).
After asking around, I found this person- the core of entrepreneurship at William & Mary. He connected me to a few other people. One of them, Agustin O’Connell, has a start-up STG Visions. They use AI movement metrics to evaluate football players and give actionable suggestions for players, coaches, and recruiters.
Agustin recommended that utilize Twitter to connect with people- and surprise, surprise, some of you came from Twitter! Specifically, he recommended that I reach out to Mac the VC (MacConwell)- a venture capitalist who was once homeless and raised ~$10M on Twitter!
I started listening to Mac’s interviews, and came across a recent TwentyMinuteVC interview. In this episode, he mentions a name oh so briefly- Will Zell.
After sending a few messages back and forth- I was able to have a 30 minute call with Will.
